Little Things

I have clearly been the worst blogger out there.  How hard is it to get on once a month and document recent happenings... super hard I guess.

Henry is almost 10 months old.... WHAT??
He weighs 22 lbs and is 32 inches long!! big BOY!

He is so much fun, and seriously has me laughing with his personality.

He has yet to crawl, he tries and can't figure out how to bring his knees under himself... so instead it looks like he is practicing for the olympics swimming.

He LOVES his walker and his bouncer.

He naps great and is sleeping in his crib really great! (at 7 months he decided he hated his crib, I couldn't take the fight every night so for the past 2 months he has slept in our bed :/)

Crib training is probably the hardest thing I have done as a mom.  Listening to him cry it out that first night about killed me.  He now only cries about 5 minutes and then he's out!

He has gotten sick twice in the past few months.  He has a nasty cold right now and I think he's starting a double ear infection.  He is constantly tugging at his ears. :(

I must say that I become more grateful and more humbled by him daily.  Especially when I am up all night holding him so he can sleep.  It's in the quiet times that I feel so blessed to be his mom.  That I get to be the one rocking him to sleep.  Waking up to his bright smiling face and giggles gets me every time too.

Baby #2 and Henry already play.  Henry will push on my belly, and Baby 2 will kick back.  It's quite comical.

We find out what we are having on valentines day!  We are so excited.  We honestly are happy either way.  I have felt that it's a boy since day 1, but I am so excited to see!  I told Chase I would like a boy 51% and a girl 49%.  haha I think a boy would be great for Henry with them being 14 months apart, but then again... I know a girl would be just as great.  So honestly we will be so happy either way!!

Chase and I have been busy busy.  Chase works full time and then does night school full time.  I just quit working at Nexus... It was bittersweet.  I had been there 2 years and have really enjoyed working there.  I need to be home with Henry during the days though!

That's all I have time for today!

I promise I'll make it a goal to become better at blogging!

Mom of 2 at the age of 22.

Alright, where do I even begin?

In  the middle October when I had missed my period, I knew something was up.  I NEVER miss my period... like EVER!  We waited a good two weeks and took a few at home pregnancy tests that both came up negative.
I had scheduled an appointment for myself with my doctor because this was so weird for me.  Went to the doctors and everything looked ok, I was NOT pregnant and my thyroid levels were all over the map.  The first time they took my blood, my thyroid was super low.  Second time they tested it it was average.  Third time high.  etc.... ALL OVER THE MAP.
October 31, we were up at the hospital seeing my sweet Nanny for the last time.  She was on the 10th floor and that elevator ride was awful for me.  I never get car sick, never get motion sickness, I just felt pregnant.  I didn't say anything because I had been into the doctors a few days before and they had confirmed that I was indeed not pregnant.
November 2, we were up in Salt Lake at my besties wedding.  The dress she had for me to wear as a bridesmaid fit great a few weeks before when I had tried it on last.  I put it on for the reception and boy was it snug!!  I looked as though I had a good baby bump... again not pregnant...  I just thought it shrunk or maybe I had eaten too big a meal the days leading up to it?  always possible!
When we got home from the reception I decided I had to test one last time, because I felt so nausious!  I went in and not even 20 seconds later did the big "+" appear.  I was in such shock and walked out of the bathroom holding the pee stick and held it up to Chase and said.... "We are pregnant.. AGAIN..." haha I wasn't expecting to be pregnant, the doctor had confimed what I wanted to hear at the time and then how was this possible?  I guess you can call me fertile myrtle??  We were going to try again starting December/January... thinking we wouldn't get pregnant right away... but now works great too!
We are seriously so excited!   Henry and this little buddy will be a little less than 14 months apart.  Woo... life is about to get CRAZY busy & Crazy FUN!  I have been craving Zofran ;) Fruit pops and meat.. (same as with Henry)  We are due June 22, but they will Induce at least by June 15 if not a week or 2 earlier than that!  Hallelujiah! I am a HUGE fan of inducing.

Enough about that and time for Henry news.
He is now 7.5 months old.... I am in awe because time has no mercy when you are a parent.
He is now wearing 18 month clothing and that bearly fits!  He is so long and looks like a 2 year old.
He LOVES all food.  He especially loves sharing popcycles with me and snuggling in bed watching Mickey Mouse.
He went to Michigan a couple weeks ago on his first airplane ride and he was a champ!  He only cried after we had landed in Michigan because he was bored of sitting and waiting!  He was born to travel.
He has crawled a few times, but has no interest in it... I am just fine with that!
He LOVES his walker and cruised backwards in it.  He hasn't figured out how to go forward yet.
He absolutely loves his puppies... espcially lulu!  HE loves giving her hugs and kisses!
He is such an easy going baby.  We are extremely blessed.
The past 2 weeks he has decided that he hates his crib?!?  Where did that come from?  He has loved it up until this point.  He used to sleep from 9-6 without waking up.  Now he will sleep in his crib until 2 and he wakes up wanting food and wont sleep unless he's in our bed.... HELP!

We feel so blessed with our lives.  We both believe that God has a plan and to just go with the flow.  Everything always works out,  It's amazing what a little faith and doing what is right can do.

Much Love-
Adams Family

5 Months!

Henry is now 5 Months Old.... again WHERE DOES TIME GO??

Henry AMAZES me.  He truly teaches me something new each day.

He has started teething sooo bad... It hurts me to see him so uncomfortable and in so much pain.  Thank Goodness for tylenol!!

Henry is like a little vacuum when it comes to food.  If it is edible, it is going in and down without question or hesitation.  He is such a clean eater that I don't use bibs over half the time.  He LOVES oatmeal with fruit.  He loves squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, apples, prunes, etc... (like I said, if it's edible- he will devour it!)

Henry LOVES to go in the tub.  His new thing is to splash and splash all by himself.  I fill the tub a few inches and put him in, and he goes to town with his toys!

He really enjoys his bumbo and his new walker.

He could watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einsteins ALL DAY LONG!

He is just the happiest, sweetest baby, and I am still not sure how I got so lucky to be his momma!

temple nights & clean eating

Chase and I were so lucky to be able to go do a session last night at the Oquirah Mountain Temple.  My dear friend Sam went thorough for the first time.  It was such a blessing to be able to be there and support her. We got there early because we didn't want to miss the session.  As we were sitting in the chapel we were able to participate in a ward temple night.  We sang I Stand All Amazed.  We sounded like angels singing.... I know that is due to the fact that we were inside the beautiful temple.  Those of you that know me... know that i can't sing.  I try to, but i surly can't carry a tune.  It brought the spirit in to say the least.  There is just something about being in the temple.  The peace that overcomes you.  The joy of being able to look across the room and see your husband.  I feel so blessed that Chase is a worthy priesthood holder that can take me to the temple.  It has a hard quality to find in men these days.

It was hard to leave Henry for 6+ hours, but I knew he was in great hands at my parents!  He seriously gets SO much love and attention over there.  My mommy is one that trust 100% watching him.  She knows his different cries.  She knows when he is just wanting attention or when he's hungry.  She knows when he wants to play, snuggle, watch tv... etc...  I am so blessed to have them so close!  I especially loved coming home to find Henry fast asleep in his bed at my moms.  I could tell that my dad "papa" had dressed him.  He was wearing blue/green stripes on the top and brown/white striped pants. haha i LOVED it!

As far as my eating clean/healthy... this week was NOT the best.  I still lost another 1.5lbs, BUT i know I could've lost a few more had I been more strict.  I have started taking progress photos... Those will come soon.  I have so much more energy and am feeling great when I eat healthy and exercise.  It's not always the easiest... but it pays off!  When I married Chase I was at my ideal weight/and in shape.  I was 160lbs.  Somehow in a year and a half I had put on weight and was up to 240lbs.  The night I went in to have Henry I had gotten up to 285lbs!  YIKES... I know, tell me about it!  I had gotten into the worst eating habits ever & was not working out.  Before I married Chase I was working out at the gym and trying to eat clean.  When I got pregnant... nothing ever sounded good to eat. So I would eat out ALL the time.  I was put on bedrest in January.  So for almost 3 months I laid in bed not being able to do much, and eating like crap.

I am so determined to get back down to 150-160 lbs!  I know I can do it, and that's all the matters.  I want to be healthy for me.  I want to be healthy for Chase & Henry.  I want to be able to run around all day with my kiddos!  I am proud to say that 4 months postpartum I have lost 55 lbs!  I am now 230lbs. I weigh less now that I did before I got pregnant with Henry!  Still way too high of a number... but it is slowly going down!  YAHOO!

I wouldn't change any of this.  Henry was worth EVERY lb.  I have learned that I will need to be more strict with myself.. Stress doesn't do any good for the body.  Walking cleans the mind and makes you feel incredible.  Water is great for the body!

Enough about me... Henry is 4 months old tomorrow!!!
HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?

my sweet baby is already 4 months!
I can't wait to find out his length and weight percentages!
I am hoping they'll let me start him on food!
Big boy needs to eat!  Milk isn't keeping him full these days!

He is constantly smiling/laughing/making funny faces.
He loves to dance and he LOVES tv!
He brings so much joy to our little family!!

August What?!

Hello August!
Where has the time gone??
The days FLY by and it makes me a little sad.
Henry is no longer an infant... he no longer looks like an infant.
He is a big baby now!  He looks like a big baby now.
It is so bittersweet!!
I LOVE seeing him explore more of the world, however I miss the sweet newborn Hank!

If these past 4 months have gone this fast... I'm terrified that i'll blink my eyes and 4 years will pass.

Henry has tried rice cereal a few times... he LOVED it!  It's quite the challenge of keeping him full.  He just wants to eat and eat and eat.  He is totally growing.  He eats & sleeps.

HE LOVES watching his tv shows!
Small Potatoes is definitely his favorite.  They are potatoes that dance and sing with a british accent.  Such a cute show!

I found an incredible machine... it is a formula maker.  It is like a coffee maker but for baby formula!  It sterilizes the bottle, fills the bottle with WARM milk, and voila!  I totally want it!

i LOVE tommee tippee brand of bottles/binkis!  Now they came out with this??!?!
I think Henry needs it!

ALSO i found the walker I want to get Hen for christmas!! yes I am one of those who starts thinking about christmas in july!

As far as losing baby weight goes... I'm down 8.5 lbs!  YAHOO!!!  I feel so much better/more energized with eating healthier!  No dairy/No Carbs has turned out to be fairly easy!  Given the fact that I cheat on weekends!  Exercising i've been awful!  I know I shouldn't make excuses.... but it's TOO hot to go jogging with Henry.  I do try to get a quick workout in here and there at home.  Julian Michaels has a FABULOUS quick workout dvd.  Hey when you've got a baby, you fit in a workout wherever you can!

Chase has been crazy swamped at work!  He is such a hard worker for our little family!  Henry and I are SOO lucky to have him.  He goes into work around 6-6:30am and gets home around 6pm.  He somehow still finds time and energy to help clean the house, help make dinner, and play with Henry.  He is incredible!

We will both be starting school in a few weeks... poopy!  where did summer go?
It will all be worth it in a couple years when we have both graduated and Chase will have his masters!  I married a genius!  Did i mention he is on FULL scholarship!  Proud Wife moment!! I seriously just love him so much.  He is totally a super dad/husband!

I am off for the night!

ps.  this is one of my beautiful best friends!  she is getting married SO soon.  I couldn't be more excited for her!  I have truly enjoyed going to showers for her!  Henry LOVES his Dort Family!

this bum... i couldn't resist!

Henry's facial expressions have become so funny!  He is 90% smiles and the other 10% funny faces!  We just love him and can't imagine our lives without him.  Why didn't we have him sooner?!
